Animal Crossing Book Tag

Like a lot of people, I have become obsessed with Animal Crossing New Horizons. I bought myself a Switch and the game a couple of weeks into lockdown and I have been playing it continually ever since!! Well, not quite, but I’ve been playing it A LOT. More than what could be considered a healthy amount, but we’ll leave it at that. So when I saw this tag I knew I needed to give it a go! What could be better than Animal Crossing AND books?

These are the rules:

  • Please link back to the original creator of the tag, Bookish Things and Tea.
  • Answer the following Animal Crossing themed book questions.
  • Feel free to use my graphics, but please don’t take credit for them.
  • Tag some friends to spread the love!

So let’s get started with Animal Crossing themed bookish questions:

Animal Crossing: Gamecube – A Classic That You Want to Read

For this I’d say either Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë or The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. They both just sound so interesting, though I might start with Dorian Gray as it’s shorter!!

Animal Crossing: Wild World – Your Favourite Second Book in a Series

This is a tricky one as I am absolutely terrible at reading series and tend to avoid them! I’ll say Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire, which is the second book in the Wayward Children series. I have actually read all the books in this series, and I really love it! I would definitely recommend the audiobooks.

Animal Crossing: City Folk – Your Favourite Book that is Set in a Large City

For this one I’m going to say Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend. I’m like 90% sure the world in which it is set is a large city. It’s now occurring to me that maybe I need to pay more attention to the settings of my books!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – The Best New Release You’ve Read Recently

This is tricky as I’ve read so many amazing books that were recently released. I’ll put a few different ones:

  • The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
  • The Switch by Beth O’Leary
  • Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton
  • Before I Say I Do by Vicki Bradley

Isabelle – A Book That’s Been With you Through Thick and Thin

The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielson is a book that I’ve loved for years and have read at least a dozen times. I am really looking forward to rereading this in June and hopefully loving it just as much!

Bells – A Book That’s Rich in Character

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is one of my favourite books and is filled with so many amazing, wonderful and complex characters. I love it so much!

Pitfall – A Book That you Wouldn’t Mind Never Seeing Again

Eleanor Oliphant is Completly Fine by Gail Honeyman. I know this is controversial as a lot of people love this one, but I had several problems with it. I just didn’t enjoy it, and you can find my full review here if you want to check it out.

Fossil – Your Favourite Historical Fiction Book

I would like to read more Historical Fiction books, but my favourite at the moment is The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah. It is an amazing historical fiction novel set in World War 2 that follows two sisters and how they struggle to survive in the time of war.

I haven’t tagged anyone to take part as I’m not entirely sure who’d be happy to be tagged! Let me know if you’d like to take part and I can add you as a tag!

So, do you have Animal Crossing? Who is your favourite villager? And if you have a switch, what other games would you recommend?

  1. Oh this tag looks like a lot of fun! I’d love to give it a go! I love your answer for Wild World especially, The Wayward Children’s series is one of my faves to date. It’s so good!! I’ll have to give the audiobooks a try.
